This is a great place for good food and the owners are very hospital and take care for the food they prepare for you.
A hidden gem! My husband and I stopped here on a whim while visiting Silver Reef. We had no idea we we're about to discover a new favorite. Papa Gus clearly knows what he's doing. I got the mini tacos with delicious smoked chicken and my husband got the "Cubano" pork sandwich. Neither of us could decide which was better. Papa Gus is a little out of the way, but well worth the short drive from St. George and surrounding areas. We can't wait to go back;
The only downer was that the beef brisket wasn't finished smoking yet when we came for lunch. We were there soon after opening. I considered docking it a star for that, but couldn't get myself to do it.
The best BBQ in the St. George area I've had. Very friendly owner, who provided great service. The pulled pork was out of this world, and the house BBQ sauce was amazing. They didn't have fry sauce, but they made some for me instead of having to mix the mayo and ketchup myself. There was something special about the fry sauce he made, they should keep a squeeze bottle full of that!
Stopped for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the fresh and flavorful food. I had the cajun chicken burger and it was moist with a clean smoky flavor. Gus was a great host, highly recommend.
Food is great. Best ribs I've ever had by far! So meaty and such a thick smokey bark around the outside that I felt like I was eating candy. They were that good! We also had the Fajitas which were so fresh and yummy! On a previous visit I had the fried cheesecake and it was just okay. Don't come to this place for the dessert or sides - Come for the BEST BBQ and Mexican food!!!
It's worth the 15 minute drive up I-15 from St. George to hit it up. I'll be going back for sure. P.S., if you have the starving student card there's a good deal on their. I kind of feel like I robbed the place with the buy one get one free deal.
